Shabbat Services

Shabbat is the most important ritual observance in Judaism. Here is your opportunity to learn to chant the Shabbat liturgy, whether you want to lead a service, prepare for your next simcha, or help our clergy lead Tot Shabbat!

Welcome to Learning2Lead Services!

Over the years, many congregants have expressed interest in learning to lead services at Beth Shalom. In the past, the only way you could learn was for you to either make an appointment for individual lessons or ask the Rabbi or Cantor to provide you a tape or CD. In either case, this required you to come to the synagogue or patiently wait for it to be delivered to your home.

Thanks to the internet, we now have a new method for you to learn without having to come to the synagogue to make your request. We call it - Learning2Lead Services.

On this special website, Rabbi Beals and Cantor Ruth have recorded more than 80 tracks of familiar tunes and nusach (the melody of the service depending on when the service is being conducted) for us to use as a learning resource. We have also provided additional resources currently found on the web, which we believe can only enhance your learning of services and prayers.

Over time, we expect to make more resources like this available to you. Should you desire something not found here, but believe it to be in the best interest of Beth Shalom, please contact Melissa Stanley, Chair of Religious Life, religiouslife@bethshalomwilmington.org.
