Shalom! Thank you for visiting Congregation Beth Shalom!
My name is Roland Roth and I have the honor and privilege of being the Director of Education and Programming here at Congregation Beth Shalom in wonderful Wilmington, Delaware.
As I begin my third year at your service I look back on a first two years filled with great joys and triumphs. The biggest area of joy has been in our quadrupling the size of our Hebrew School. We went from a projected enrollment of 25 to 30 to almost one hundred in just two years. Teachers, parents, and staff have been very flexible and accommodating, open and caring, strong and supportive, and that is how we have grown so successfully. We are budgeting to have over 100 children in our educational offerings by the end of the 2007-2008 school year!
Each month Beth Shalom publishes the Kol Shalom. In each issue I publish an article focused on the educational and programming aspects of life here at Beth Shalom.
Below are my articles from this past two years as well as current articles that I have written. I invite you to peek into life here at Beth Shalom and to email me with any feedback and suggestions you might have.
It is with great gratitude and admiration of our families and supporters of our Hebrew School that I am confident that this coming school year will be as successful, if not more, as my first year here at Beth Shalom was. Rabbi Michael and I welcome you with open arms to our community and look forward to assisting you with the Jewish education of our community’s Future.
Hazak, Hazak, V’nithazek: Be Strong, Be Strong, and You will be Strengthened.
Shalom,
Roland Roth
