Jewish tradition teaches us that while it is ideal to have Havdallah on Saturday evenings as a way to separate Shabbat from the rest of the week, Havdallah may still be recited until sunset of Tuesday evening of that week. The first three days of every week are considered to be in the shadow of the previous Shabbat — as opposed to the last three, which are considered preparatory days for the next Shabbat.

Recognizing that the days are getting longer, this would mean our Saturday Havdallah would be at times when many families would already be heading to sleep and/or putting little ones to bed, Cantor Elisa is endeavoring to make this end-of-Shabbat celebration a truly family-friendly event.

We hope you will continue to join us at our new time - 12:15pm every other Tuesday beginning on May 19!
