The Chesed Network
Chesed Network

The Network is bringing together some of the caring activities already going on, such as visiting congregants at the Kutz home, assisting with shiva minyans, and staying in touch with congregants who may be alone for holidays. The Network is still in its early stages, finding participants, and matching them with people who are in need of assistance. A Network column now appears regularly in the Kol Shalom. The column is written to support caring behaviors throughout the Beth Shalom community, to remind the readers that the Network is available to help, and to recruit additional participants.

Our current goals are to increase activities, such as home visits, shiva support, hospital visits (to supplement clergy visits), and transportation needs for these activities. Additional activities might include providing transportation for events such as Shabbat dinners, Rabbi’s tisch luncheons, and the creation of a cooking group, which would provide meals to families in crisis.

For more information or to volunteer for the Network, please contact Cindi Metz by e-mail, chesed@bethshalomwilmington.org.
