Shabbat Services

We celebrate the Shabbat morning service with the leadership of our Rabbi and congregational lay-leadership. Throughout the course of the year, many opportunities exist to share simchas; bar and bat mitzvahs, baby namings, aufrufs, and more. Congregants wishing to participate in the service, e.g. chanting Torah/Haftarah, leading Birkot Hashahar, Pesukei DeZimra, Shaharit, or Musaf, or give a D'var are welcome to contact Rabbi Beals for more details. Services begin promptly at 9:30am. Minyan is achieved when 10 people are present (Jewish men and women are counted as equals.)

Babysitting Co-Op

Beth Shalom comes alive on Shabbat morning with the joyful sounds of children welcomed in our holy community. Our Babysitting Co-Op, where parents of 0 to 3 year olds help cover babysitting duties, allows other parents to daven in the sanctuary.

Junior Congregation

Junior Congregation, led by high schoolers, is where 6 to 10 year olds participate with their prayers in activities, games and tefillah, prayer.

Shoreshim (formerly Lunch and Learn)

Children ages 3 to 5 will mix arts and crafts, games, and stories with an emphasis on Shabbat. All activities will offer the opportunities for learning and socialization you have come to expect. This program will allow parents an opportunity to participate in the main service, and both parents and children are welcome to stay for the kiddush. In addition, a peanut-free snack will be provided.

Shoreshim will last about an hour - from 11am to the end of Shabbat Services. This program is open to both members and non-members of Beth Shalom. The activity fee is $36 for members and $54 for non-members.
