Joshua Nelson, The Prince of Kosher Gospel
Friday, January 13, 2017

Join us as Joshua Nelson and his troupe return to Congregation Beth Shalom to lead us in a Kabbalat Shabbat Service. Mr. Nelson is a Black Jewish educator, musician and entertainer combining Jewish religious lyrics and meanings with the soulful sounds of American gospel music. This will be a stimulating and unique service – one to remember – as we honor the memory and celebrate the life of the Rev. Martin Luther King, while partnering with our neighborhood churches.

“Am Echad, Lev Echad” – “One people with one heart”
Sunday, April 23, 2017

Ritasue Charlestein, originally from North America, is a storyteller and folk singer. An officially recognized member of the IDF medical corps, Ritasue proudly wears her uniform when traversing the country to thank, salute, comfort, hug and sing for all of Israel’s soldiers.

With guitar in hand, a ready smile and a heart filled with love, Rita introduces her audiences to “my Israel”! Her music will warm your soul and move you to tears. Through a powerful and inspiring program that presents a unique glimpse into the lives of those who protect and defend the State of Israel, Ritasue weaves together story and song in testimony of the bravery, courage and selflessness of Israel’s soldiers.
